环境岩土工程是岩土力学与环境科学密切结合的一门学科,其主要应用岩土力学的观点、技术、方法去解决和环境有关的岩土工程问题,为治理以及保护环境做贡献。涉及问题(1):人类与自然环境之间的共同作用。这类问题主要由自然灾害引起,如温室效应、地震作用、土壤退化、洪水灾害、水位的变化、区域性特殊土的影响等。(2)人类的生活、生产以及工程活动引起的与环境之间的作用,其发生的主要原因是人类本身,如城市各种工业、商业以及生活垃圾、工业废水、废渣、废气等有毒有害物质对环境与生态的影响。
